Setting up a barcode scanner and using it to sell
Tunder lets you check out faster by scanning your items' barcodes with a Bluetooth barcode scanner, such as the Inateck scanner compatible with Tunder.
Step 1: Pair the barcode scanner with your device
The barcode scanner connects directly to your device via Bluetooth, like any other Bluetooth accessory.
On iPhone or iPad
- Turn on your barcode scanner and enable its Bluetooth pairing mode (check your scanner's manual if needed).
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Bluetooth and make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
- In the list of available devices, select your barcode scanner.
- Wait for the status to change to "Connected".
On Android
- Turn on your barcode scanner and enable its Bluetooth pairing mode.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Bluetooth (or Connected devices) and make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
- Tap Pair new device, then select your barcode scanner.
- Wait for the scanner to appear as connected.
Once paired, the scanner stays associated with your device. You won't need to repeat this step every time you use it.
Step 2: Assign barcodes to your items
For an item to be recognized when scanned, its barcode must be saved in Tunder. There are two ways to do this:
From the app
- Open the item you want to edit.
- Fill in the barcode field.
- Save the item.
Tip: you can scan the barcode directly with your scanner to fill in the field and avoid typing errors.
Via an import file
If you have many items, you can import all your barcodes at once using an import file containing your items and their associated barcodes.
File import requires a premium subscription. Also, the import can only be done once, when initializing your item catalog.
Step 3: Sell with the barcode scanner
Once your barcodes are set up:
- Open the checkout screen in Tunder.
- Scan an item's barcode with your scanner.
- If the barcode is saved in your items, the item is automatically added to the cart.
- Repeat for each item, then check out as usual.
If an item is not added to the cart after scanning
- Make sure the scanner is properly connected via Bluetooth in your device settings.
- Make sure the scanned barcode is saved on the item in Tunder.
- Make sure your subscription includes the barcode checkout feature (premium feature).
- If the problem persists, contact support.
